Benincà ‘Proper Job Install’ – August 2022 Winner

Overview

Capitan Gate Co are specialist gate fabricators who work to create luxury and bespoke entrances for homeowners all over the South of England. Over time they have built up an incredible portfolio of clients, including some household names within the sporting world.

Captain Gate Co undertake domestic and commercial work, choosing Benincà products for the proven reliability and build quality. After tagging us in many installations, we have selected their recent installation completed in Fernhill Heath, Worcester to be awarded our Benincà Proper Job Install for August 2022.

Their client had an extremely wide driveway and wanted to add security, whilst being practical for guests entering and exiting with cars. The private road the client’s house is situated on is called Willow Road and so this was the main inspiration behind the beautiful design. Willow leaves were laser-cut into the profiles of the gates, with all fabrication, design, and installation being completed by the talented team at Capitan Gate Co.

 

Challenges

When Capitan initially discussed the project with their client, the main objective was to make access to the driveway functional for their large family. As noted, the driveway was very wide and would frequently have up to six cars parked on it at one given time, so they wanted a solution that allowed for one side of the drive to open depending on which car was arriving/exiting. Capitan perfectly met the requirement, by installing dual-sided gates.

 

Automation

Capitan Gate Co powered the gates with two Benincà BULL624 ESA sliding gate motors which are ideal for intensive use with their 24 Vdc geared motors. The BULL624 ESA has an integrated control unit, along with an encoder device with ensures maximum safety and precision whilst the gate is in motion. To add to the overall gate safety, Captain also installed two BEA lasers on both the front and rear of the gates, to add a precise, non-contact safety solution that will detect all types of obstacles within the detection field.

 

Conclusion

Not only does Capitan’s installation look stunning with the beautiful laser-cut profile, but it meets the client’s brief perfectly for practicality, with the dual entrance/exit. We are therefore thrilled to award this unique install with our ‘Benincà Proper Job Install’ award for August 2022.

Benincà ‘Proper Job Install’ – July 2022 Winner

“High-end domestic gates in Surrey, by Wentworth Gates”

 

Overview

‘Wentworth Gates specialise in creating unique electric gate solutions for clients who want an entrance of distinction’ and we couldn’t agree more, their latest installation completed in Windlesham, Surrey does just that. Hence, they have been awarded our Benincà Proper Job Install for July 2022.

Their client chose a classic oak raised and fielded panel gate with complex brick pillars and sweeping walls. The job was then finished with additional railings, feature lighting and a bell mouth driveway. The installation has a timeless look, using both reclaimed bespoke piers and cobbles. Wentworth Gates used powder-coated ironmongery and covers, along with powder-coated steels, which work to make the warmth of the oak stand out.

 

Challenges

Each project usually has its unique challenges, and we were intrigued to understand what Wentworth Gates faced with this particular job. David Bell, Director at Wentworth Gates advised; ‘This was a tricky site due to levels dropping 700mm from side to side, so we had to work hard on the entrance level and adjust the wall heights for the best result.’

 

Automation

Wentworth Gates installed Benincà DU.IT14NVE 230Vac underground operators. The DU.IT14NVE is an irreversible 230 Vac electromechanical geared motor that is equipped with an encoder guaranteeing maximum safety and precision whilst the gate is in motion.

The installation also includes a sleek Videx GSM intercom with an integrated keypad for coded entry, this ensures the homeowners never miss a visitor.

 

Conclusion

This is a stunning entrance created by Wentworth Gates, as well as adding major curb appeal to the property, the automated wooden swing gates add a layer of security to the client’s house. It’s a fantastic installation that we were delighted to recognise with our Benincà Proper Job Install tag.

Product Highlight, The New BULLHE.REV

The new BULLHE.REV motor is a 230v 1400KG sliding gate motor. This product has been born from an adaptation made to the BULL20.HE. The unique part of this intensive use sliding gate motor is the reversible motor with an electric brake in both open and close phases. This gives the end user the ability to operate the gate manually, with ease, and without the need for using a release key in the event of a power failure.

The screw gear motor is reversible, so when no power is supplied to the motor you have a ‘fail safe’ solution where the gate can easily be moved manually. This may be a requirement for a fire access or a low-security site where the gate is the only means of access therefore the reversible nature of the BULLHE.REV allows for easy operation in the event of power failure.

Simon of SRH Gates & Railings recently used the BULLHE.REV and said the following:

“Working on a multi-apartment site the management agent required the ability to move the car park gate manually in the event of a power failure. Whilst this operation is not unusual, where you would usually train the users in the use of a manual release key, it was deemed not reliable or realistic for all apartments/users to have manual release keys or to leave a key nearby. We discussed this with the sales team at Beninca UK and the BULLHE.REV gave us exactly what we needed, normal operation you’d expect from the BULL motor but with a reversible motor in the event of power failure. Customer happy, job well done!”

Welcoming Faith to the team.

We are delighted to have recently welcomed Faith to our growing team, joining us in an apprenticeship role. Faith will be based in the office and in her role as a Junior Business Administrator, she will provide vital support to the team internally. Alongside administrative tasks, Faith will be answering the telephone and welcoming guests, so please do give Faith a very warm welcome. 

Jack Crawford, Assistant Manager here at Beninca UK and Faith’s designated mentor, commented ‘It’s fantastic to have another young apprentice join our team. Faith impressed us in her initial interview being extremely professional and displaying great customer service skills, so we were delighted when Faith accepted the job offer. I am looking forward to watching Faith learn new skills and grow into her role over time.’

In her spare time, Faith enjoys trying to train her dachshund puppy who is very misbehaved, she also loves shopping and going out to eat with her friends. Faith studied at Kennet School, and during her secondary years had a few part-time jobs, including working at a salon and then a restaurant.  Faith commented “Sixth Form just wasn’t for me and I began to look for an apprenticeship which is how I first discovered Beninca. Since starting at Beninca, I feel happy with my decision to leave school, I really enjoy the tasks of my job role, whether it’s organising or invoicing, to emails or creating spreadsheets. The team here are a very lovely, genuine group of colleagues that couldn’t have been more welcoming. I’m really fortunate that I’ve joined a company that I feel will help me with my future targets of getting into marketing.”

National Park in Uganda – At the Murchison Falls National Park in Uganda, Eva barriers welcome visitors to this 5025 km² park. It is the largest protected area in the country and is inhabited by rare protected species like Rothschild’s giraffe, shoebills and will soon see the reintroduction of the white rhinoceros. The park’s name comes from the eponymous Murchison Falls, a spectacular 43 m drop after a 7 km long gorge, where the waters of the Nile gather pace and tumble turbulently into Lake Albert. It is a magical location that is full of charm, making it an ideal destination for exciting photographic safaris.
