When approached by a homeowner based in Knutsford, they proposed a standout design that was quickly approved. The resulting swing gates are truly stunning and made from Sapele, a hardwood known for its fine-grain surface, making it an ideal choice for the anthracite grey paint finish. Sapele is also highly durable, strong, and dense, and its resistance to rot and weathering makes it the perfect choice for high-end domestic gates.
Challenges
Fortunately, this particular swing gate installation went smoothly and as planned. The Gate Guys meticulously prepare a full plan of works and ensure agreement with the customer before commencing any installation. Automation
The Gate Guys powered the swing gates with a Benincà DU.IT14 underground gate motor, chosen for its strength and ability to provide discrete automation, leaving the timber gate design to be the centre of attention. The Benincà DUI.IT underground range offers irreversible electromechanical geared motors, available in 230 Vac and 24 Vdc versions. With the ability to open up to 180 degrees, these motors feature full metal mechanics, built-in mechanical stops, and encoder technology for a smooth and precise movement. Additionally, a Procon MD102 magnetic probe was installed, providing a pulse output to detect vehicles for free exit from the property side. This feature ensures a seamless exit experience for the homeowner and guests which can be controlled via a timer for additional security in nighttime hours for example.
