In a recent project, a client in Denmead—a picturesque village near Portsmouth—approached Evo Gate Automation with a request for a pair of metal estate gates. The customer specifically sought underground automation, along with features such as timed entry, 24-hour exit, and an integrated intercom system that connects to both a monitor and mobile phones.
Challenges
Every installation comes with its own set of challenges. For this project, Evo Gate Automation faced an unexpected complication. After laying the drive edging and installing the steel reinforcements and footings for the piers, the client decided to widen the drive. This required the builder to spend an additional two days dismantling the steel and concrete to accommodate the new, wider configuration.
Automation
Evo Gate Automation selected an underground motor for a discreet look to achieve the client’s desired minimalist aesthetic. They chose the Benincà DU.IT24NVE underground gate operator for its reliability and performance. This high-quality 24Vdc operator is capable of powering gate leafs up to 3.5 meters and is ideal for frequent use. The DU.IT24NVE features an encoder device that enhances safety and precision during gate operation.
The client also requested the ability to provide temporary access codes for visitors and to monitor guest arrivals. To meet these needs, Evo Gate Automation installed the Akuvox X912 intercom system. This advanced smart IP intercom, installed with its 8” monitor set on a desk stand, offers superior audio and video quality. The sleek and compact design of the X912 impressed the client, who was very pleased with the top-tier features and performance.
Conclusion
The completed installation received outstanding feedback from the homeowner. They were thoroughly impressed with both the functionality and appearance of their new gates. As a result, we are delighted to award this gate installation with our Proper Job Install award for August 2024.
