EU Standby Power Regulations: Benincà is ready.

Energy Saving Solutions for Gate and Garage Door Automation

Effective May 9, 2025, a new European regulation will take effect, setting eco-design requirements for the off mode, standby mode, and networked standby energy consumption of electrical and electronic household and office equipment, under Regulation 2023/826 of the European Parliament and the Council.

What Do The EU Standby Power Regulations Mean for Benincà?

Benincà has been focussed on reducing energy consumption since 2007, with the introduction of the first ESA SYSTEM. As a company committed to innovation and environmental responsibility, Benincà designs and develops all its products in Italy, always considering their environmental impact.

Our Commitment to Energy Efficiency

Benincà has consistently focused on producing energy-efficient automation systems. Our gate and garage door automation range now include two key energy-saving solutions: ESA+ technology and electronic switched-mode power supplies, both of which comply with the new regulation. With these advancements, Benincà is well-prepared to meet the upcoming EU regulations, continuing to lead the way in providing sustainable and efficient automation solutions for gates and garage doors.

ESA+ Technology

ESA+ technology is designed to save energy by reducing consumption when the motor is in standby mode. This system is available in more than 16 models for use in residential and commercial environments, ensuring standby absorption values of less than 0.8 W, fully compliant with European regulations.

Electronic Switching Power Supplies

The adoption of electronic switching power supplies over traditional linear power supplies (like transformers) leads to significant energy savings and greater efficiency. These systems minimize power dissipation, mostly thermal, when the automation is in standby mode. Additionally, intelligent management of connected peripherals and mains electricity extends the lifespan of electronic components and optimizes motor operation.
