Firstly, what is an IP Rating?
The IP rating or code (Ingress Protection Code) indicates to what extent an electrical device is water-resistant. IP ratings are set by the international standard EN 60529 (British Standard BS EN 60529:1992). The first number represents the resistance against solids (dust and sand), followed by a second number indicating its protection against water.
It’s important to understand the IP (Ingress Protection) ratings and why they shouldn’t be overlooked. Please see the IP rating guide below:
Get to know the SlimStone-2
Drawing your attention to the Locinox SlimStone-2 which secured an IP rating of IP68, which you can see from the chart above is one of the highest possible grades available. Since everything is entirely resin encapsulated, there is truly no way for any dust or water to reach the components inside, making this the ideal weatherproof keypad for installations.
The SlimStone-2 is engineered to withstand the harshest weather conditions, ranging from -30°C to +85°C. Additionally, the integrated Smart Heating System ensures a frost-free and seamlessly operating keypad, even in the coldest winters.
The SlimStone-2 can easily be programmed with up to 100 user codes, making it the perfect keypad for both residential and commercial applications. With up to 100 user codes available, the SlimStone-2 provides flexibility, scalability, and enhanced access control for busy environments such as commercial buildings, schools, or apartment blocks.
With a working voltage range of 10 to 26 Volts AC/DC the SlimStone-2 offers adaptability, versatility, and reliability, making the keypad once again suitable for a wide range of applications and environments. The wide voltage range allows compatibility with various power sources, both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC), providing flexibility in different electrical systems.
The SlimStone-2 also has 2 integrated switching relays: 2 x NO – 2 x NC – 2 x COM (Max. 2A, 60W, 26V AC/DC) Having two integrated switching relays provides redundancy, ensuring that if one relay fails, the other can take over. This redundancy enhances the overall reliability of the keypad and the system it is a part of.
The SlimStone-2 with its innovative design has highly resistant stainless steel push buttons tested for 1,000,000 pushes and more, it is also equipped with a 2 m long encapsulated cable.
